GAGE IS SILLY AND HAPPY!
As hard as it is to believe, beautiful, sweet puppies like Gage end up in public shelters all of the time.  Gage was one of the lucky ones who was rescued by GSROC.  He is an easy-going puppy and he takes direction very well.  Gage would love to have a dog brother or sister to pal around with--he loves to wrestle and tumble with his foster siblings.  Gage is approximately 5 months old.  He is neutered, current on his shots, dewormed and microchipped.  If you are looking for a loyal and affectionate forever friend, Gage is looking for you!  Visit http://www.gsroc.org/ for more photos and to submit your application for Gage!

GSROC recognized as Best Way to Get a Pet in 2011

GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE OF ORANGE COUNTY
WINS COVETED OC WEEKLY AWARD
GSROC recognized as Best Way to Get a Pet in 2011

(Orange County, California) October 18, 2011 – German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County announced that it has been awarded 2011 “Best Way to Get a Pet” by OC Weekly Magazine, earning them recognition throughout Southern California as the premiere non-profit pet adoption agency.

OC Weekly chooses outstanding people, businesses, and organizations from Orange County in hundreds of categories to compile its prestigious “Best Of” list. Along with German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County to win the coveted award, other recipients included South Coast Plaza (Best Mall), Jered Weaver (Best Angels Player), Corey Perry (Best Ducks Player), Old Towne Orange Historic District (Best Residential Neighborhood), Avalon (Best Place To Get Away), and Crescent Bay (Best Beach in OC).

“We feel proud and grateful to have been chosen for this honor,” says Maria Dales, the organization’s founder and director. “Our volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of the many dogs depending on us, while upholding the highest standards of compassion and professionalism.  You can’t instill this level of dedication in someone—it has to come from the heart.  Individually and collectively, our volunteers are of the finest caliber, so it is truly rewarding to see their commitment acknowledged.”

Many other high-profile winners put German Shepherd Rescue in great company as it continues to reach out to dogs and fellow dog lovers alike. “If you are looking to adopt a canine family member and don’t know where to begin, visit our website at www.gsroc.org and get started on the path to finding a wonderful new companion,” says Maria.

Hugo Surgery Donations

Hugo needs our help.

http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/gsroc/hugo

Big ol' boy Hugo came to us from a public animal shelter, where he would have lost his life if we hadn't rescued him. At just three years old, he has a huge frame and should weigh around 100 pounds, but Hugo arrived underweight at 80 pounds.

He was with us for only 2 days when we received an emergency call from our boarding kennel: Hugo was vomitting blood! After a late night rush transport to the emergency vet and several diagnostic tests, we learned the cause of Hugo's distress: He had a large needle stuck in his stomach!

Thank you all :)

Amazing. Many of the dogs are shepherd mixes.

Maybe that's why they are so smart :-)
